Chicago Flips Red
August always brings with it the excitement of a fresh start — sharpened pencils, new shoes, the hum of opportunity in classrooms across our city. Parents send their children to school with hope: hope that they will grow in knowledge, character, and confidence as they step into another year of possibility.
But alongside that hope sits an undeniable concern. Too often, our children walk into schools shadowed by the fear of violence. Here in Chicago, we see it not only in headlines of school shootings across the country, but in the everyday danger that surrounds our neighborhoods. This violence doesn't come out of nowhere — it comes from a culture that rewards anger, glorifies riots, and excuses destruction. And when leaders like Governor Pritzker stoke division by calling for punishment of Trump supporters instead of peace, it only deepens the problem.
That is why Chicago Flips Red is fighting. We believe our children deserve a society that uplifts them instead of endangering them. A society where families are strong, communities are safe, and leaders value unity over division. As the school year begins, let's recommit ourselves to building that future together.
